Experience an Adventure through Time in Terra Mitica

Benidorm is a wonderful vacation destination for families who want to spend their holidays on the Iberian Peninsula. With its pristine and picturesque beaches, it isn’t a wonder why Benidorm is known as one of the most popular seaside attractions in all of Spain. Tourism along its beautiful beaches is a huge contributor to the town’s economy. But aside from being a beachgoer’s paradise, Benidorm actually has lots of surprises up its sleeve. To name one, is Terra Mitica, noted as one of the coolest and most popular theme parks in this region of Spain.

Opened in year 2000, Terra Mitica is a haven for tourists who love thrills and fun for the whole family. Over 8 million euros per year is generated from ticket sales of Terra Mitica alone, according to statistics. What is unique about this park is that it carries a mythical theme, as it is divided into sections such for eras like the Greek, Egyptian, and Roman. There is also the Islands region and the Iberian zones of the park. Most visitors claim that taking a tour of this destination is like going on a journey through time.

Conveniently enough, Terra Mitica has divided its rides into categories, based on the strength or mildness of the ride. If you want an adrenalin rush like no other, then feel free to try the strong rides, not for the weak hearted, as they would say. For those who love the screams and speed of roller coasters and similar rides, they will surely get that rush from Terra Mitica’s La Furia De Triton, Inferno, Synkope, Magnus Colossus, and the Tizona.

On the other hand, if thrills can be too much to handle, you can opt for soft rides like the Arietes or bumper cars, and the Mitikarts, or Terra Mitica’s version of go-kart racing. For the children, stroll on over to the Rome region of the theme park, where you can find toddler and kid-friendly rides like the Vertigum, Tentaculus, and Rotundus, to name a few.

When you speak of theme parks, rides should not be the only basis for fun and enjoyment. Terra Mitica is proud to have tons of other attractions, including shows that are sure to excite visitors of all ages. Get to watch Roman gladiators battle it out in the Lucha De Gladiadores. You can also head to the Islands region of the park to watch the Tarantela, a revival of the ancient circuses where you can marvel at spectacular dancers, acrobats, and jugglers. Wherever you go in Terra Mitica, you will surely bump into their mascots and street performers dressed in ancient themed garb. Aside from the shows, there are also several shops at Terra Mitica for drinks, snacks, and souvenirs.

From the official website of Terra Mitica, you can find more details on their attractions, shops, and shows. The site offers downloads on park information as well as maps of the special zones by theme. You may also reserve your tickets ahead of time to beat the queues during peak season, or you can purchase season passes for Terra Mitica adventures all year round.

Terra natura: Animal Park with a difference

Benidorm’s theme parks

Benidorm in Alicante province of Spain has four major theme parks. These are the Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar. Each of them has a great tourist presence and caters to the holiday-crowd in an efficient manner. There is something about Terra Natura though that swings the balance in its favor. This animal theme park is avant garde in what it offers and hence lets a tourist feel overawed with its repertoire.

Multifaceted theme park

It has a natural mountain setting blessed by the aura of Puig Campana. Though there is a waterslide running through it for some 700 meters, tourist prefers understanding it as an animal park. The handicraftsmen make great souvenirs, the foods is a sumptuous ethnic spread full of Mediterranean spices and yet, trust us, this is an animal park above all and quite brilliant at that. 1500 different animals from some 200 species; this is what we probably count as an extra-terrestrial experience.

Pangaea

Just as you enter Terra Natura, you will find a volcano looming large on you. You will be witnessing a lava river flowing adjacent to you all through the green landscape. This place is called Pangaea. (The frosty continent of the devil)

America

Next is America. This again would be a lovable section; Native American dwellers looking to cut through the different landscapes. There are Mayan ruins, great jungles and a lot of panorama. All this will take you to a different world altogether.

Asia

Asia is full of camps. It binds the magic of orient with the various traditions. East has always been a hidden place. You will witness a lot of things being practiced in secret atmosphere. This is also the magic of east. To this magic is dedicated one complete corner. The third corner of the Terra Natura. It has logging camps, huts, caverns and a very silent ambience. Sometimes, the elephants make noise to throw some voice across the eerie silence of the place. You will find the snake charmers, the souvenir sellers and a lot of species of animals from the east.

Europe

Last on the way will be Europe. They are all too well known land with some of its unknown stuff. Look for the donkey ride, sea life and amazing features of wild life. There are many species of fishes in the man-made ecosystem. It is being pleasantly added with a lot of water slides.

So we see that each land has its own native features. Asia is full of Asia and America is full of America. Terra natura has tried to bring out the best of the place by igniting the native candle.

Children simply love it

As a child, it is a very educative trip. You can also get to be proximal to animals. There are guards who see to a danger-free trip. Move on a zip wire, slide down the chutes or take the train ride, the call of a natura is one clear call and it cannot be ignored.
