Though there are two of the most beautiful beaches in Spain that are found only in Benidorm, this haven for adventure seekers has much more to offer, no matter what age you may be. And a place you wouldn’t want to pass out on is Aitana Safari Park.

The safari park is just about 33 kilometers from the city proper of Benidorm, and most tourists travel to it via car. When you take the highway off from Villajoyosa to the town of La Sella, you will find this amazing animal park just less than 20 kilometers from the said town. Another landmark to help you find the park easily is the town of Penaguila, which is near to it as well. The name Aitana is derived from the mountain range where it is situated. The mountain climate makes this venue an ideal living area for most animal species.

At the Aitana Safari Park, you can take the trails and get to see large cats like lions and tigers. Besides the wild cats that are sure to thrill and amaze you, you will also get to meet the largest land mammals on the planet, also known as the elephants. Some of the African bush elephants, with species name Loxodonta africana, were found in the wild, but were raised in captivity within the facilities of the safari park. Here at Aitana Safari Park, there is a popular female known as Bimba, who is already 25 years old. Other animals you will surely catch sight of at the Aitana Safari Park are ostriches, buffalos, giraffes, and zebras.

For the kids, there is a dedicated area in the Aitana Safari Park to help them be more hands-on with the nature experience. There is a petting zoo where the children can interact with smaller and tamer animals. If you feel a little parched or hungry as you go exploring at the safari park, then you will be relieved to find restaurants in the venue.

Because the facilitators of the Aitana Safari Park believe so much in the preservation of animal species, there is a dedicated nursery in this venue, called Dacktari Park. Here, young animals are cared for and nursed, most of which are born in captivity. Visitors to the Dacktari Park can watch caretakers feed the baby animals, and if you’re lucky, you can also get to pet the young ones.

Here is another great perk you can get form Aitana Safari Park: besides enjoying an unforgettable trek through nature, you can also avail of huge discounts when you book early and online. This year, make your Benidorm vacation extra special for the whole family, and take them on a wild animal adventure to Aitana Safari Park, a place that can also be called a paradise on earth.

Shopping in Benidorm

You can’t ever get tired of Benidorm. The place provides a lot of cosmopolitan flavor and seeps it so beautifully in its ethnic folds that what you get is a sheer delight of an Alicante province. If you are looking for Spain, you will be disillusioned. Benidorm is so non-Spanish despite lying in the Iberian Peninsula right in the heart of Spain.

Well! Tourists love the nightlife and the mad shopping spree. Shopping in benidorm is just as fun as its beaches and theme park. You get a variety of goods and that again at luring odds. Yes, you need to be a little cautious of entering the market on a weekend as there might just be pickpockets around but then it is the time when the Benidorm shopping market is in its full bloom and you get to purchase all kinds of ware.

Before we start on the shopping bit, here is another word of caution. Do not be lured by people outside the market gates who ask you to taste a beverage and then simply force you into buying it. Just outsmart them. There is no pre-written clause. Drink the beverage and get going.

Now, for some shopping know-how in Benidorm: it does not matter what classification of shopper you fall into; whether you are a go-getter buyer, or the window shopper or the analyst (much in the chess player mould), Benidorm will feast your eyes with a lot of heterogeneity. Goods are spread across in all dimensions, taste, and budgets. There are shoes, glassware, handicrafts, leather, fabrics, carpet, ceramic, among other things.

Leather deserves special attention. You have the imported variety at the well-fed retail stores. At the same time, you will get a lot of wholesalers feeding you with leather of all kinds. There is the rexin based leather, the hand-smocked variety, the burnt leather ad leather which has eaten its own surface, giving it an antique finish. The styles and dimensions leave each person with something to choose.

Jewelers make loot so you have to be cautious again. If you know the art of segregating the authentic from the fraudulent, Benidorm offers plenty of appearance-rich colored jewelries. The idea is to look for some survey stamp. (Though you would hardly find one) Benidorm market flow with emerald, topaz, onyx, spaniel, ruby, coral, lapis lazuli, sapphires and a lot else; few of those who have the craft and the moolah to make high-end jewelry play use these stones and gems for the purpose of encrusting upon diamond and gold.

Old town is an excellent place to shop. Goods lie on the ground and on small quarters. The street dazzles with interplay of street lights; the streets on the whole are very narrow and provide with less space to maneuver. Once through, you can find goods worth a lot at moderate prices. Yes, you need to wear your bargaining shoes correctly. Even the beach area is a hub of souvenir shops selling affordable souvenirs for you to take home and remember the bounty of Benidorm.
