Benidorm weather
Benidorm is a coastal Spanish town in the province of Alicante. It is widely regarded as a cosmopolitan tourist hub and they make it a home of sorts in summer. There is all kind of modern day amenities which are paramount in providing the tourists with revelry. At the same time, the Mediterranean influence along with the giant setting of mount Puig Campana gives it a natural setting which reeks in old world charm.
Costa Blanca is gifted with one of the most hospitable climate when seen over the arc of entire year. This is testified by the World Health Organization. Mediterranean Sea also provides the place with its maritime climate. Such moderation is a source of delight for tourists who are plagued by weather excesses at many other top tourist destinations.
The average annual temperature of Benidorm is 19.3 degrees; this is quite close to the average temperature of earth in general. It gets 8 hours of active sunshine each day on an average basis.
The weather in Benidorm is fabulous all throughout the year and it is not a difficult analysis that Benidorm gets neatly 320 days of fair sunshine. Sunbeams hitting on the Mediterranean waters and producing iridescent beams of light is one scene tourists will give their right arms for.
Because the place has metamorphosed into a giant tourist hub, the meteorological department has become an important cog in the wheel. It gives the weather predictions for any coming ten days that pre-suggest a tourist of any possible rain.
In summer
In summer, Benidorm is home to more than half a million people and it’s afloat with a cosmopolitan crowd. Lot of crowd is scattered on the beach looking for much coveted delight that the celestial ball of fire is. The Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas are all strewn with a sea of humanity who are busy counting the blessings that the Mediterranean has to offer.
Temperature is generally between 25 degrees to 35 degrees centigrade. It scarcely drops below 15 degrees. The weather can be suggested as hot with scant to very scant rainfall. August is incorrigibly hot with temperature touching on the fringes of 40 degrees. Thankfully, there are cool sea breezes which moderate the temperature to passable levels.
The level of humidity is low so at least one monster is absent. This means that you are not vulnerable to dehydration. At the same time, you are prone to suffer from sun stroke so it is advisable not to venture into the beaches between 12 noon to 3 pm. using a high pH sunscreen is acutely recommended to withstand the sunrays. It is something else that few tourists intentionally look for adequate amount of tanning while lying on the beach.
The temperature in Benidorm is quite above the national average. This is partially because of the Mediterranean influence and partly because of the Campana which repels the clouds and keeps the chilly north winds away. There are various online sites which provide precise information about daily Benidorm weather and also send precautions in advance. This helps the tourists plan accordingly.
Coming back to summer modulations, if you are a north European tourist or much worse a Scandinavian one, opt for a villa that has a working air conditioner and proper fans, they can help you with sustaining the summer heat. Despite the heat, the welcome sea breeze makes Benidorm one of the most sought out summer destinations of the world.
In winter
In winter, Benidorm suffers milder weather again. This is when you compare it to the over all weather pattern in north European and Scandinavian countries. The diurnal temperature range in winter can be quite elastic. This means that you can walk to moderate sunlight and next moment you might be feeling chill rip you apart till the veins.
Spanish houses and villas are adequately guarded in summer because of construction which supports coolness. Unfortunately, the shield is not there in winter and heaters are a must when you look out to rent a villa in Benidorm. Though rainfall is not a party pooper except may be in November, the Gota Fria can be a real ‘wet blanket”. Not only does it bring incessant rain and a sharp temperature drop, it also mars the beaches. This means if you are unlucky enough to encounter the “Fria” then you have to look for indoor games to pass your time.
The weather at Benidorm also applies to Alicante. El Campello, Albir, Gaudalest, Calpe among others.
Such weather is a dream for tourists who wish to revel in the bounties of theme parks, animal parks, water, parks, beaches and the shopping extravaganzas. It’s only natural that a right kind of weather creates a beautiful perception in mind. The holiday-crowd looks for fun. They do not wish for sun beating down their spine. Nor do they like being pushed by the frost factor. This is why Benidorm is such a nice tourism idea. Imagine the feel of sea breeze building like zephyrs and striking your hair gently and the waves breaking up near your feet and bringing tiny drops of water to your face.
Weather is the first impediment for travelers. How would they enjoy the marine life offered by theme parks, how would they seek joy in traveling through forest and how would they enjoy the open-air rollercoaster and waterslides in rough weather.
The beaches require a dash of heat but certainly not torrential rainfall. Even heat should be well spread out and sunrays should fall obliquely. Judged over all these parameters, Benidorm scores high points.
If you are tourist looking to enjoy Benidorm, rush to the place in summer. You can quite well join the fun in winter as well. Two months to avoids are November (for expected rainfall) and august (heat build-up). The place will fill you with great peace and it will provide you a holiday mix of old world feeling and contemporary amenities.
Make hay while the sun shines and shines generously on Benidorm beaches.
