Denia and San Vicente del Raspeig are not alone in bringing a free-system of bicycles to the fore. Benidorm is following their way and doing it in a big way. Valencian energy agency is promoting the free-system for improvising on the use of alternative modes of transport. The idea is to minimize the usage of petrol. VEE, in combination with the council of Benidorm, will put in €240,000 for buying and putting on roads some 300 bikes. They believe that it would save 1,65,000 liters of petrol each year.
During the tentative period, there will be 10 bike parks scattered along the town of Benidorm. These will be free, no-holds-barred, hop-off, hop-on system. Those who use the bikes will have the services of electronic cards. This will assess where a bike is being pulled and where it is put back. Such meticulous techniques will keep track of the exact use of bikes in a scientific way. Centralized control offices will take care of this database. Each town hall would have one centralized control office for this purpose. Using a bike instead of car will put in far less pressure of pollution on Benidorm; in fact, some 400 tonnes of carbon dioxide to be precise.
Bike parks will be there at The town hall, Plaza del Torrechó, calle Mercado, Polideportivo de Foietes and el Palau dels Esports L’Illa de Benidorm, Avenida Europa, Avenida Ametlla de Mar, bus station, tram station, Parque de Elche,

San Jaime and Santa Ana Church, the prime church can at last breathe a sigh of relief. Their renovation has been approved by the ministries on local, regional and even national levels. The church is also called as the Iglesia del Virgen del Sufragio.

Since 2004, two aspects have been renovated and work is on for the last and outer face of the religious institution. The starting date has not been finalized. Negotiations for the permits and other accords would be secured with concerned people only after the final official assent.

The latest phase, set to cost 320,000 euros, will involve the outer look and the building of a bell tower to let the system of lighting station sink in. Luis Lopez and Manuel Agüera, the parish priest and the councilor respectively, are of the same opinion, “This will ensure the building can be seen at night from all points of the compass.”

Promise

The talks for the deal have been helped by the city council of Benidorm. The recession and the resultant lowering of the revenue granted by the council has led to a lack in the amount required. But the shortcomings have been negated by a signed guarantee from the Mayor Manuel Perez Fenoll, who has broken the promised 318,000 euros into three yearly parts of 106,000 euros each and allotted them. The different individual groups, festival committees and clubs (peñas) within the bishopry have assembled to allow for budget additions.

The class of the building that houses the San Jaime and Santa Ana church is encapsulated in the emotion that it has survived the ravage of skyscrapers very well. The completion of the church took 40 years from 1940 to 1980. Later, the church was devoted to the Virgin of Suffrage, believed to be on a floating fishing boat.

The building scraped unscathed through both the attacks: bombs in ‘Peninsular War’ in 1812 and Spanish Civil War in 1936. The people in Benidorm are related to the elegant church more with heart than head. The dwellers use the structure as marriage building and various sacred occasions and fetes. The footfalls at the church cross 15,000 during peak summer.

The cities of today are very markedly broken into two parts: The Old City and the Downtown. Benidorm is no different and lays a variegated fare for you.

The coffee houses, small restaurants and portable shops that open up across the beach line, are all full of ideas. They provide you respite, a noiseless homely environ to look at the sea and yet have your material desires fulfilled. Rincon de Loix is a place renowned for shopping and lives up to its fame. Conches, trinkets, bodegas, jewelry, rare soft clothes, and even exclusive items; they are all there.

The logic may be that the tourists are not short of rolling money and even have the hankering to buy. In a new place, their taste has to be satisfied and Rincon de Loix takes care of that aspect. If you have the depth in your purse, you will not fall short of options. That is a deal.

Any place that is by an ocean is rich in water games. Canoeing, surfing, yachting, scuba diving and beach volleyball are favorite pastime. You may get to see some expert performers and glazing bodies tanning under the sun. If only, we could be the Sun!!

The cable cars that fly up at almost 60 kilometers per hour across the ocean provide a thrill that is unmatched. Not meant for the soft-hearted, the ride gives you the full picture of Rincon de Loix.

The number of two to four star hotels that line up Rincon de Loix is awesome. The city virtually knows that there is no shortage of tourists and so has special accommodation arrangements. You may book even your condos or apartments for a short visit into the city online. You wouldn’t want to stay homeless here, even if sleeping on sands is a timeless experience.

The part of Benidorm is very swanky and the drive through is pretty enchanting. If you just be at Rincon de Loix and leave, you will have great things to say about Spain, that is a guarantee.
